Music Journey: Raised on ’60s rock and ’80s pop, he completely skipped the 1970s for reasons scientists still cannot explain. That all changed in 1998 when The Offspring blasted through his radio. The face-melting distortion hit him so hard, he still hasn’t fully recovered.
At 13, he hijacked his dad’s acoustic guitar, realized it wasn’t loud enough, and went electric. He later added bass to his arsenal and recently picked up the drums. Honestly, if the rest of the band gets stuck in traffic on your wedding day, this guy can probably play the whole gig solo.
He cut his teeth in the underground punk scene of Tel Aviv and anchored a talent show house band before bringing his high-energy strings to Southern California.

Music Journey: Starting out playing clarinet in jr high and alto & baritone sax in high school jazz ensemble, Mark was on his way to rock stardom when he picked up his first guitar in his senior year of high school and whaled in his first band playing Stones, Ramones, and other covers.
College, marriage, and kids put guitar on the back burner, but not for long, as the ’90s brought a new wave of inspiration—STP, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Foo Fighters. Moved to South OC, bought THAT guitar, sharpened his chops, conquered stage fright through funky blues jams, found his way through a few bands and landed in Smack Dab circa 2023! Finally, Marc’s absolutely stoked to be making some noise with the Flannels.

Music Journey: Josh launched his musical career in the third grade, aggressively destroying his mother’s pots and pans while his dad cranked Phil Collins Live. Shoutout to his first music teacher, who reportedly possessed the patience of an actual saint.
He marched his way through junior high and high school as a founding member of the Crimson Express Marching Band and falling in love with the laser-like precision of Drum Corps International. He transitioned to the full drum kit, survived an embarrassing pep band incident involving a song called “Drum Machine,” and used that exact trauma to fuel his rise to Section Leader for Eastern Illinois University’s drumline and Funk Factory. SUP!
From playing college gigs with “The Night Putters” and working as a club DJ, he graduated to the Chicago rock scene with “Double Helix.” He eventually brought his sticks out west to California, tearing up the stage with a massive roster of bands before landing right where he belongs—anchoring the rhythm section for The Flannels.

Music Journey: Evan launched his musical career in the 5th grade using pure deception—lying his way into a local band by claiming he knew how to play the drums. Luckily, his actual drummer brother stepped in to rescue him, teaching him the ropes just in time to blast through Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” for their first setlist.
He spent his youth hammering away to prog metal, Pink Floyd, and Phish. To balance things out, his high school best friend bought him a pawn-shop bass guitar. That twist of fate sent him on a massive genre-bending journey through the Chicago music scene, playing everything from punk and funk to big-band jazz and synth-pop.
After launching an album with Pocket Mirror, he joined Northern California’s legendary funk-rock party band, Litty DeBungus. Now, he is officially back in Southern California to relive, revive, and rejoice in the heavy 90s alt-grunge that birthed his musical soul, laying down the low-end for The Flannels.
